Local community leaders celebrate the grand opening of Downtown Redmond Station

Hello, Downtown Redmond!

On May 10, Sound Transit began Link service to our two newest stations, Marymoor Village and Downtown Redmond. The 2 Line now serves 10 stations over 10 miles, with more stations still to come! When complete, the 2 Line will operate from Downtown Redmond to Lynnwood City Center, sharing the track with the 1 Line between International District/Chinatown Station and Lynnwood. The 2 Line runs every 10 minutes, seven days a week, from 5:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Marymoor Village station connects via trail to nearby Marymoor Park, King County’s oldest, largest, and most popular park. The park offers 640 acres of space for outdoor recreational activities and performances, along with a 40-acre off-leash dog park. As summer events begin, the 2 Line service will extend late on event nights, allowing you to enjoy riding light rail without sacrificing a minute of the show.

Downtown Redmond station is the eastern terminus of the 2 Line, featuring neighborhood retail, dining, and lodging in an outdoor environment. It is adjacent to the Redmond Central Connector, connecting Eastrail to Downtown Redmond. BikeLink lockers are available to reserve by the hour on a first-come, first-served basis.

Parking is available at South Bellevue, BelRed, Marymoor Village and Redmond Technology stations, and several ST Express and King County Metro routes serve 2 Line stations. We look forward to seeing you onboard the newly extended 2 Line!

Crosslake Connection Update

The final two 2 Line stations will open the crosslake connection, the first floating light rail bridge on the planet, in early 2026, after we complete testing. We’re committed to getting it right, so we are focusing on safety first. In late May, we towed a non-powered light rail vehicle over the bridge for our first test.

We look forward to opening the 2 Line crosslake connection to give you more regional connectivity and less time in traffic.

2026 Service Plan Engagement

By the end of 2026, Link light rail will provide expanded service to areas now served by buses. To maximize the benefits of this new service, we're developing a plan to reorient ST Express routes to provide better connections to light rail. These changes will affect northern, eastern, and southern King County, as well as Snohomish County. Following the first phase of feedback we received in April, we will share specific proposals later this summer for public review and comment.

Thank you in advance for your feedback and participation as we work to develop a service plan that best serves the communities in our region throughout 2026.
