New Federal Way Downtown Bus Loop opens March 30
 On March 30, Sound Transit will open the new bus loop at the future Federal Way Downtown Station. This opening means you'll no longer catch your bus at the old Federal Way Transit Center, allowing construction crews to complete the remaining work, like finishing the station area's new street grid and installing security systems.
Pedestrian pathways and signage will assist riders from the parking garage to the new bus loop amid the ongoing construction.
Sound Transit is scheduled to open the Federal Way Link Extension project in spring 2026.

With the opening of the Federal Way Downtown Bus Loop, Sound Transit's Spring service change will begin on Sunday, March 30. ST Express routes 574, 577, 578, and 586 will move to the bus loop, as will King County Metro and Pierce Transit buses.
