In March 2023, the Sound Transit Board (Board) adopted motion M2023-18 which identified a preferred alternative for the Ballard Link Extension project. As part of this motion, the Board also directed staff to study ways to minimize or eliminate construction impacts to the Chinatown-International District (CID) and maximize connections to all regional and local transit modes.  

We expect to share the results of the additional studies with the Board and the public this fall. The project team will introduce findings from this additional analysis at the System Expansion Committee on Nov. 14 (learn more about Board committee meetings and how to attend). No action is requested, the presentation is for informational purposes only.  We will update our online open house with more information and study results soon.
