Recapping the Everett Link team’s summer engagement
Summer 2024 was a season of huge milestones, time spent in community, and reasons to celebrate with each other. Sound Transit’s Lynnwood Link light rail service expanded into Snohomish County after years of anticipation. Everett Link Extension’s project team joined the opening day party to spread the word that light rail is expanding further north in the future. We talked to over 3,600 community members in multiple languages at several events, including:
- Everett Public Schools Resources Fair
- Everett Pride Block Party
- Everett Farmers Market
- Nubian Jam
- Latino Expo
- Connect Casino Road Carnival
- Mariner Fest
- Lynnwood Luau
- The Lynnwood Link opening
Join us at our next event in partnership with Sno-Isle Libraries and ChildStrive. Enjoy activities for the whole family, local food, hot cocoa, story time in English and Spanish, and more. Share input on upcoming projects like light rail and the Mariner Community Campus, and help guide the future of your community.

How Lynnwood Link might change your bus route
Four new stations, including two in Snohomish County, opened for service on Aug. 30: Shoreline South/148th, Shoreline North/185th, Mountlake Terrace, and Lynnwood City Center. A fifth station, located between Northgate and Shoreline South/148th on NE 130th Street, is scheduled to open for service in 2026.
To more quickly connect transit riders to regional light rail, and to better serve the whole community by providing more frequent and more local service, some bus services changed starting Sept. 14. For example, buses that previously connected Snohomish County to the light rail station in Northgate may now connect to Link in Snohomish County. See how your bus routes may have changed with Lynnwood Link’s opening below:

Learn about the latest Everett Link station layouts
Along with our in-person summer engagement, the Everett Link project team updated our engagement website in June to share early station layouts that show what the stations in your community might look like. The website also has updates on the alternatives being studied in the environmental review process.
Although we are not in an official comment period, you can still provide input on the early station layouts or submit questions. Stay tuned for the next website update in mid-2025, when we will be seeking input on station access — how you might walk, roll, bike, and bus to future stations.
