Track our progress!
As we get ready to celebrate the opening of Lynnwood Link on Aug. 30, 2024, our work to expand fast, reliable connections throughout the region continues. We’re planning to add 16 miles of light rail connecting Snohomish County residents to the regional light rail network, from Lynnwood City Center to Everett Station. The Everett Link Extension is currently in the environmental review phase of planning, and we have updates to share! You can find new information on our website, including:
- Early station layouts showing what the stations in your community might look like.
- The current alternatives being studied, with descriptions of what’s changed since our last update in 2023.
- Information about the environmental review process and how we’re preparing for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).
The EIS process will help the project team and the community understand the benefits and drawbacks of each of the alternatives. You will have an opportunity to review and submit feedback on the Draft EIS after it’s published, likely in early 2026.

Summer has arrived!
Sound Transit will be attending community events across the project area this summer. We would love to meet you, share information about the project, and answer any questions you might have. Some of the events we’ll be attending are listed below. You can find the full list of events on our website.
In addition to our fairs and festivals season events, we will continue to hold briefings with community organizations, key stakeholders, and elected officials.
Would you like our team to provide a briefing to your community? Please reach out to us at everettlink@soundtransit.org any time and we would be happy to share information and answer questions at your next community gathering.
