Federal Way Link Extension tying in to existing light rail network at Angle Lake Station
The Federal Way Link Extension team is excited to share a major project milestone with the community! Work is now underway to connect the new Federal Way Link Extension power system, called the “overhead contact system”, to the existing light rail network at Angle Lake Station. This process is an essential step in the completion of the Federal Way Link Extension. It will also allow us to store additional light rail vehicles just south of Angle Lake Station.
While we are connecting the tracks, light rail service at Angle Lake Station will look a little different. From May 12 until June 22, passengers travelling between Angle Lake Station and SeaTac/Airport Station on the 1 Line will experience scheduled service interruptions during necessary construction on the Link light rail system. To learn more, check out our post on The Platform blog or come to an upcoming drop-in session to speak to a project team member.
