As part of 2 Line simulated service, crews will be running drills to test fire alarm equipment at the Downtown Bellevue Station and Bellevue Tunnel.  

What: 

• Fire alarm equipment testing, which includes fire alarm siren sounds and flashing lights. 

When: 

• The proposed fire alarm testing will occur intermittently throughout the following days: 
  • Friday, February 2nd 
  • Wednesday, February 7th 
  • Tuesday, February 13th 
  • Sunday, February 18th 

Test dates are subject to change.

Where: 

• Downtown Bellevue Station and the Bellevue Tunnel (see map below). 

More: 

• Each drill will last approximately 20-30 minutes.   
• Sound Transit is coordinating this work closely with the City of Bellevue Fire Department.  
• Emergency testing will happen periodically in the future as part of required system maintenance. 

The 2 Line, opening this spring, will add 6.6 miles, eight stations, and two garages to the light rail system.  

The remaining section of the 2 Line — which includes two more stations in Judkins Park and on Mercer Island and creates a transfer point to the 1 Line at International District/Chinatown Station in Seattle — is expected to open in 2025.
