Map of updated parking at Puyallup Station
The new Puyallup garage and surface parking will open to the public on Monday, March 27. The additional 680 stalls will be a huge help for passengers, especially those taking later morning trains.
Please give yourself extra time to arrive at the garage and make your way to the platform. There are two vehicle entrances, one from 2nd Ave and one from the surface lot on 3rd Ave (see map). After parking, all passengers should use the pedestrian walkway, accessed from the garage third floor, or the new crosswalk at 2nd Ave to cross 5th Street, then make their way to the platform.
And remember, the S Line mid-morning train now departs Puyallup Station at 10:38am rather than 10:33am. Whether you are traveling for work, appointments or fun, Sounder provides a great alternative to sitting in traffic!
New on-demand bicycle lockers will be available starting next week.
Sound Transit is contributing $3.8 million to the city of Puyallup to make walking, rolling and bicycling to the station, and in nearby neighborhoods, more convenient. Improvements include:
- Retrofits to over 50 curb ramps in the station area with wider ramps and detectable warning surfaces. This benefits all pedestrians, including seniors with walkers and people with visual impairment.
- Upgraded pedestrian crossings on 5th Street south of the station, including a signalized crossing at 2nd Ave.
- Dedicated bike lane facilities on W Stewart Ave and 4th Street NW. These facilities, to be completed in 2024, will give passengers coming from the north and west a more convenient trip to the station.
In addition, Sound Transit has installed BikeLink on-demand bike lockers at the station. These secure, stainless steel lockers can be used by any transit passenger using a BikeLink card, or the BikeLink app. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are accessible 24 hours a day, For more information visit BikeLink FAQ’s.
