Active trains on the tracks

Light rail testing in Bellevue is taking steps forward! Starting on Monday, Feb. 13, active trains will be on track in the Bel-Red area (as indicated on the map below). Trains will be moving through the at-grade section in Bel-Red twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening.

Flaggers and safety professionals will be on site to direct traffic when needed. Moving forward, pedestrians and motorists should expect trains to always be running. Pedestrians should make sure to only cross at designated crossings and always look both ways.

Trains will not be running at full speed at first.

How to stay safe around active trains:

  • Look both ways.
  • Headphones off, screens down.
  • Take crosswalks, not shortcuts.
  • Stay behind the yellow line.

  • Active trains on tracks

  • Possible anytime starting Monday, Feb. 13

  • South Bellevue Station to Redmond Technology Station, including the Bel-Red at-grade section of the track

  • Assume there is always a train coming.
  • Cross only at designated areas.
  • Always look both ways before crossing the tracks.
  • Plan ahead — leave early and allow extra time to reach your destination.
  • Dates and times are subject to change due to inclement weather or unforeseen issues.
