Construction alert

Northbound I-5 to NE 175th Street off-ramp closed for nighttime Track Equipment Mobilization work

On Saturday, Jan. 7, Sound Transit will close the northbound I-5 to NE 175th Street off-ramp and the northbound King County Metro on-ramp for the delivery of track equipment. A crane will be set up on the closed ramps for removing track equipment from flatbed trucks and placed onto the guideway. This work is part of the Lynnwood Link Extension light rail project.

What:

  • Sound Transit will be performing this work at night due to ramp closure restrictions to reduce traffic delays.
  • Work will involve noise to adjacent neighbors, but it should not be much louder than freeway noise.
  • It will take one working night to complete this work. If the work is delayed, a new night ramp closure will be scheduled and residents will receive a new flyer.

When:

  • Saturday, Jan. 7 from 11:59 p.m. to 7 a.m. the following morning

Where:

  • Northbound I-5 to NE 175th Street off-ramp (approximately between NE 170th Street and NE 174th Street).
  • Detour routes will be in place (see map).
