Tune in to the Sound Transit Board meetings this month

Since the comment period closed in late April, the Sound Transit Board has been focused on reviewing the results of the Draft EIS analysis and comments received to prepare for potential Board action later this month to confirm or modify the preferred route and station locations. The System Expansion Committee held a workshop to review the Draft EIS results on May 20. The Draft EIS comments were then shared with the Board in late May. In June, an overview of comment themes was shared at the System Expansion Committee and Sound Transit Board meetings.

Sound Transit Board meetings in July:

  • Thursday, July 7 | The Executive Committee met to continue discussions on the project, building on the conversations in the Board room in May and June. No action took place in this meeting.
  • Thursday, July 14 | The System Expansion Committee will again discuss the project and may provide recommendations to the full Sound Transit Board to confirm or modify the preferred alternatives.
  • Thursday, July 28 | The full 18-member Sound Transit Board may then take action to confirm or modify the preferred alternative(s). As a reminder, the action on a preferred alternative(s) indicates a preference among alternatives but is not the final decision or obligation.

Members of the public may attend the Sound Transit Board meetings in person or in a variety of ways including dialing in via touch-tone phone, through their browser, or via the WebEx mobile app. For more information, visit the Board of Directors website. All meetings are recorded and will be uploaded to the WebEx Livestream archive.

Interpretation in Mandarin and Cantonese will be available for in-person attendees at the July 14 System Expansion Committee meeting. In-person and virtual Cantonese and Mandarin interpretation will be available for the July 28 Sound Transit Board meeting.

After Board action this summer, staff will begin to prepare the Final EIS, which will respond to comments received on the Draft EIS. We will reach out soon after the Board action to describe next steps and how to engage during the Final EIS process.
