Marking another milestone for the East Link light rail extension, crews have begun testing for light rail vehicles along the route that will connect Seattle with stations on Mercer Island, Bellevue and the Overlake/Bel Red areas. East Link opens as the 2 Line in 2023!
This extension includes four new stations serving Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Shoreline and Seattle. By 2024, Lynnwood Link and other extensions currently under construction will more than double the length of the region’s light rail system.
In November, we celebrated opening the parking garage at the future South Bellevue Station - a great development for current bus riders and future light rail passengers. Construction continues on the adjacent light rail station and guideway.
