Project update

Sound Transit staff meet with the public to discuss possible routes for the West Seattle and Ballard Link Extension project.

Join a Community Advisory Group

Help shape the future of light rail in your community! As we approach an important project milestone of releasing the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), we are looking for people along the project corridor who bring diverse perspectives and lived experiences to join one of several community advisory groups.

Feedback from these groups, along with Draft EIS comments received from the public, will help inform Sound Transit Board action to confirm or modify the preferred alternative for the project. Members will serve as ambassadors to their communities and bring forth community values, concerns and ideas. People who identify as Black, Indigenous, or a person of color, women, LGBTQ+, immigrant or refugee, low-income, or people with diverse abilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Submissions will close on 5 p.m, Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2021.

Get involved!

Engaging property owners early

Our goal is to engage early with property owners along the corridor to ensure they understand the range of route and station alternatives we are studying and what to expect throughout the project's timeline.

In the coming weeks, we will be reaching out to property owners inviting them to meet with staff and learn more about the project. We are early in the planning phase of this project with final route and station location decisions still years away.
