| It's finally here! We're so ready to celebrate the extension of the 1 Line up to Northgate tomorrow. Head to our blog to learn about what's in store for opening day, and how these new stations will change the way people move around our region. Remember to stay safe and wear your mask if you're coming to join the festivities! We'll see you onboard.
Three new Link light rail stations are opening on Oct. 2, and we’re excited to celebrate with the community. Head to our blog for a full list of activities – some of which will remain open through the month of October!
When Link service to Northgate, Roosevelt and U District begins, some Snohomish County and North King County bus routes will change to better connect to fast, frequent trains. We've got a blog post and video to help explain how to transfer from bus to rail.
When you take light rail, including to the three new stations, you're helping to reduce pollution and make our communities healthier. Link runs on 100 percent carbon-free electricity - the first major light rail system in the country to go completely green!
The Northgate Link Extension features an engineering marvel: underground tracks that include highly-specialized rail infrastructure resting on what’s called a “floating slab.” This helps reduce the vibrations that might interfere with the important work being done at UW.
Each of these stations and neighborhoods are unique. Thanks to community input and a lot of work behind the scenes, we were able to preserve an iconic piece of Roosevelt history for new generations: the Standard Radio sign.
As we get ready to open the new Link light rail stations, we wanted to remind passengers about how to stay safe while traveling. This includes: staying behind the yellow line, texting security with concerns and wearing a mask.
Everyone is welcome on Sound Transit trains and buses, regardless of race, gender or ability. If you’re new to light rail, or looking to explore the new stations, check out our blog to learn how we’re making it easier to move around our region.
The location of Roosevelt Station in the heart of the community is due to the hard work of activists who said "Yes In My Front Yard" years ago. See if you can spot Jim O'Halloran and other neighbors' photos at the new stations!
Major changes are coming to the Eastside, with 12 new Link light rail stations opening for service in the coming years. New Link service means potential changes to bus service, but we want to hear from you first. Head to our blog to learn more.
