Construction alert

Night closure at 1st Ave NE and NE Northgate Way Intersection and NB I-5 Northgate Way on-ramp for guideway construction

As early as Monday, August 16th, Sound Transit will be closing 1st Ave NE and NE Northgate Way Intersection, as well as I-5 Northbound on-ramp at Northgate Way. The night time closure will be utilized to continue guideway construction for the future light rail guideway.

What

  • Suggested detour route is located on 1st Avenue NE (see map).
  •  Work consists of heavy equipment and cranes.
  • Full closures will occur during work hours and re-open during non-work hours.

When

  • Monday night, Aug. 16th to Friday morning, Aug. 20th.
  • Construction work hours are from 11p.m. to 5a.m.

Where

  • 1st Ave NE and NE Northgate Way intersection.
  • Northgate Way on-ramp to NB I-5
  • Access will be maintained for local residents.
  • See map for suggested detour routes.
