Happy fall! In September, we asked riders to share their thoughts - from renaming a station to reviewing service changes. This month, we'll be celebrating Latinx heritage and progress on the Northgate and Redmond light rail extensions. Make sure to follow along!
The Northgate Link light rail extension, which includes new stations in the U District, Roosevelt and Northgate neighborhoods, is on track to open in 2021. Check out the progress in our latest blog post.
Existing Link service from Angle Lake to the University of Washington is now "the Red Line," while Tacoma Link service is "the Orange Line." We want riders to get used to using line colors in advance of a big milestone: opening the Blue Line in 2023.
Today, we run light rail to University Street and University of Washington stations, and in 2021 we will open U District Station. That can get confusing for our riders, so we're gathering input on six options for a new name for University Street. Survey closes today!
Community Outreach Specialist Jefferson Rose is an active member of Sound Transit's Latinx in Transportation (LIT) employee resource group, which is hosting several events to celebrate Latinx Heritage Month from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.
Leading up to our next service change in March 2020, we want your input. One proposal is combining routes 540 and 541 into a new Route 544, which would also serve South Lake Union. Let us know what you think through Oct. 7.
In light of a two violent incidents on Link last month, Sound Transit has added extra security officers at the downtown Seattle light rail stations. The safety and security of riders is our number one priority.
Work on rail grinding and polishing along the Link light rail tracks from South Walden Street & Martin Luther King Jr. Way to South Othello Street & Martin Luther King Jr. Way is set for Sept. 25 to Oct. 9.
