Spring
showers of sparks for Northgate Link light rail tunnels, bike locker reminders
and more great pics from Instagram
Are you following
@SoundTransit on Instagram? If not, you missed the "rollout" of our
triple decker buses on April 1 that our followers and local media outlets went
NUTS over! Besides
cheeky Photoshop highlights (the triple decker was an April Fools joke), we're
making our Instagram channel into a fantastic showcase of the train, bus and
construction shots you love. Follow us so you're sure to see our “Field Trip
Friday” stories that take you inside the construction sites where your new
light rail system is taking shape. Check it out and follow us today! And be
sure to tag us while you’re out riding for your chance to be featured too!
Contractors on the
Northgate Link light rail extension got busy in April welding together the
rails that trains will roll over when the line opens in 2021. Check out our
story for an up close look at what it takes weld together 80-foot-long rail
"sticks." The Northgate line includes stations at Northgate,
Roosevelt and the University District neighborhoods and will give you a
14-minute trip from downtown Seattle to Northgate, no matter how bad traffic is
on Interstate 5
With "Bike Everywhere Month" upon us,
here's everything you need to know to reserve your own bike locker or get
access to bike cages at Sound Transit facilities. It's a great way to get into
the habit of riding to and from your train or park-and-ride.
The
Mariners are off to a great start and we’re excited to partner with them to
make your game-day Mariners ticket your ticket to ride Link light rail! The
promotion, sponsored by the Mariners, runs through June 3.
