Mountlake Terrace High School Career Panel
In February, I had the wonderful opportunity to sit on a career panel for Mountlake Terrace High School Students. The event featured speakers from across the professional spectrum, and students had the opportunity to ask questions, hear about their career paths, and meet them. During the event, I shared insights into my political career and the fulfillment I receive from serving my community. I am continuously grateful for the chance to meet with the future leaders of our county and provide feedback and insight to students who are interested in learning about their government. Thank you to Mr. Collins for the invitation and to the students for their participation.
City of Bothell Quarterly Leadership Meeting
As part of my quarterly check-ins with District 4 leadership, I connected with City of Bothell staff to discuss 2026 goals, plans, and challenges. Both the City of Bothell and Snohomish County operate on biennial budgets and are beginning budget discussions for 2027-2028. This is a critical time for local governments to make decisions regarding revenues and expenditures. I’m proud to have the opportunity and working relationships with Bothell leadership so we can navigate complex issues together.
Tapped Public House Soft Opening
Last week, I was invited to attend the Tapped Public House soft opening in Everett. I am grateful for local leadership and business owners working together to help grow small businesses. I highly recommend visiting Tapped Public House; they are family-friendly with great food and staff. Tapped Public House has locations in Mukilteo, Mill Creek, Everett, and Camano Island.
Along with Councilmember Nehring, I traveled to my alma mater, Henry M. Jackson High School, to visit with students and talk about local government. As many of you who have read my previous newsletters know, this part of my job is by far my favorite part. Encouraging and engaging with students on local issues and how they can get involved is one of the most important and fulfilling parts of my role as an elected official. Thank you to Mrs. Schafte for the invite!
Also during the month of February, I met with the City of Mill Creek leadership to provide updates. During our update, we talked about future projects that the city is planning for in Mill Creek, opportunities for the city and county to partner together, and long-term planning for the future of Mill Creek residents. I’m very thankful for Mill Creek’s thought leadership and planning as we continue to work together to serve our constituents.
