Earlier this month I hosted the District 2 evening meeting at the NW Stream Center in Everett. Prior to the meeting, Tom Murdoch from the Stream Center provided a guided tour for myself and Councilmember Nehring and staff along the elevated boardwalk. The tour offered a chance to hear from a local wetland expert about the importance of protecting these critical areas and the benefits they provide to the broader ecosystem. At the meeting, we heard from several residents who joined to thank council for hosting a meeting closer to their community and also about how they too value efforts like the ones underway at the Stream Center. Many thanks to staff for their efforts to put on the event, to the NW Stream Center for hosting, to the councilmembers who made the effort to attend in-person, and to all who joined!

I recently joined for the ECHO Tour (Exploring Careers & Healthcare Opportunities) through Snohomish STEM Network. This event at Everett Community College brought together over three hundred students over three days to explore healthcare pathways by connecting with professionals and trying hands-on demonstrations. Young people could explore with hands on examples the possible career pathway and be better able to envision their future in the workforce. Thank you to all who helped to put on the event and who participated! Here are a couple of pictures from the day:
