Budget Hearings
The Council will be having two budget hearings on Tuesday, October 22nd. These meetings are open to everyone and will have time at each for public comment. The first hearing will be held at 10:30 am, while the second will be in the evening at 6pm. Both will be held in Council Chambers, as well as having a remote option via Zoom.

New Elections Center
The County's new Elections Center opened on July 9, 2024.The Elections Center houses all ballot processing operations for Snohomish County. The County designed the facility to efficiently meet production needs this Presidential election year and beyond; to improve security of ballots and staff; and to enhance observation opportunities for the public and transparency of the process. Workforce Snohomish is hosting a free healthcare-focused job fair from 1:00-4:00 pm on October 23, 2024. The event will be held on the fourth floor of WorkSource Everett at 3201 Smith Ave in Everett. Twenty-three employers and education providers representing multiple healthcare fields will be on hand to promote and discuss career opportunities in the sector. The job fair is open to everyone, and attendees will discover clinical and non-clinical positions in nursing, dental, behavioral health, pharmacy, allied health, administration, patient support, biomedical, facilities, and more.
On November 9th, from 10am – 2pm, there will be a free vaccination event held at Everett Community College in the Henry M. Jackson Conference Center, Room EVJKCO 106 &107. Insurance is not required. Available vaccines include COVID-19, Flu, Monkey Pox, and Children’s Vaccines. Testing of glucose and blood pressure levels will also be available. For more information, call 425-388-9285.
Adult Recovery Court is celebrating 25 years of providing therapeutic and legal services for people affected by substance use disorder and involved with the criminal justice system.
To be considered for entry into Adult Recovery Court, someone involved with the criminal justice system in Snohomish County must be referred by their defense attorney and complete a screening and intake process with the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. Since its inception, more than 2,000 people have participated in Adult Recovery Court, and 981 have fully completed the program.
The program has a lasting impact for graduates and for the community. Of the graduates who entered the program in 2018, 96% have not had a new felony conviction since. And for those who completed Adult Recovery Court in 2023, they’d achieved a combined total of 7,279 days of sobriety at the time of their graduation.
