Executive Dave Somers recently announced that the Snohomish County Future Workforce Alliance and Workforce Snohomish have released the 2024-2028 Draft Local Area Plan for public comment. The County’s Local Area Plan is updated every four years and is required by the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA).
“Building on and delivering a gold-standard workforce development system that meets the needs of individuals and employers is one of Snohomish County’s top priorities,” said Executive Somers. “We are committed to working with our partners to build a workforce of the future that benefits everyone, not just a select few. I encourage residents and employers throughout Snohomish County to provide feedback on our Local Area Plan, and I’m grateful for the support of the Future Workforce Alliance and Workforce Snohomish in developing and implementing these efforts.”
The Local Area Plan is available for public comment from March 1 to March 31, 2024. Once the public comment period closes and comments received are addressed, the Local Area Plan will be delivered to the State of Washington for additional review, and plan approval is expected in June 2024.
The public is welcome to share their feedback and input by emailing fwa@snoco.org.
