Every three years, Paine Field is required to conduct a full-scale emergency exercise to rehearse with all the entities that would be involved in responding to a real-life emergency at the airport. The exercise will allow us to test our emergency response and update our response plans.
The exercise will be held in-person on Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 10 a.m. to noon in the area of the Paine Field Fire Station, Taxiways E and H, and the West Condo hangars (C-31).
Tenants and visitors to the airport may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles from several Snohomish County public safety departments and support services on that date beginning at 9 a.m. and concluding around 1 p.m.
Mark your calendar for your badge renewal date
With the increase in number of badges processed by Paine Field, the staff will no longer send badge renewal reminders to you. It is your responsibility to renew your badge prior to the expiration of your badge.
A great suggestion from our staff is to mark your calendar with an appointment two weeks before your badge expires. This will serve as a reminder to contact the Badging Office to complete your training and have your documents verified.
For more information on our badging program, please visit our website at https://www.painefield.com/194/Badging.
C3-C5 Parking lot improvements to start late May
Pedestrian and parking improvements are coming to the parking lot adjacent to buildings C-3 and C-5 in late May. Contractors will be improving pedestrian pathways, upgrading ADA ramps, and anchoring the parking lot curb stops. In addition, they will be installing electrical conduit to the flag pavilion.
While it's not a large project, the improvements will make a difference to our tenants and the traveling public.
Check our webpage or follow us on social media to receive updates on our projects as we head into the construction season.
The Snohomish County Airport Commission serves in an advisory role to the county executive on a variety of matters related to the airport's capital improvement program, facilities plan, budget, and the Airport Master Plan.
The next Airport Commission meeting will be held on Thursday, April 28 at 6 p.m. via Microsoft Teams. The agenda and information on how to participate in the meeting are available on the Paine Field website.

Paine Field Fire holds badge pinning ceremony
(L to R): Lt. Murphy, Lt. Brown, Lt. LaPierre, and Lt. Swearengin
Since early 2020, Paine Field Fire has promoted four individuals to the rank of Lieutenant. On April 6, the department was finally able to complete the tradition of a formal badge pinning ceremony for these promotions. Our ceremony included administering the oath of office and the pinning of the Lieutenant's badge by their family members.
In the ceremony, Chief Cole reminded the Lieutenants, "You were promoted for a reason, believe in that reason and believe in yourself."
Congratulations to Lieutenants Murphy, Brown, LaPierre, and Swearengin on your accomplishment.
