Long-Term Planning for Wallace Falls

In late 2017 the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission began a public process that will lead to a long-term plan for Wallace Falls State Park.  This planning process includes four stages:

1.  Identify issues and concerns of park stakeholders

2.  Explore alternative approaches to address identified issues

3.  Prepare preliminary recommendations to address issues or suggest a realistic compromise

4.  Propose final recommendations for formal agency and Commission adoption

They are currently at the third stage of the process.  At this meeting, State Parks will present preliminary recommendations to address issues identified by park stakeholders including day-use and camping opportunities, parking, overall visitor experiences, natural resources, recreation and trails and other topics of interest to the community.  To present these recommendations and get your input a public workshop will be held from:

6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday July 18, 2018

Sultan City Hall Community Room, 319 Main Street, Sultan

Donut Boy Hosts Police Thank You Event

Tyler Carach, known nationally as The Donut Boy, began a mission to thank every Police Officer in America in August 2016.  He and his mother were at a local store when he saw four deputies and asked if he could use his allowance money to buy them their favorite snack...donuts! After doing so, he asked why the Officers were so excited over a snack and his mother explained that the Officers were excited because they were happy to be appreciated. It was at that moment Tyler decided he wanted to do more for the Officers.  He decided he was going to thank every single Officer in America and give them each a treat.

Tyler was passionate about his idea and his parents agreed to help him by starting locally and seeing what happened...Fast forward to 2018, 22 months into his program, 34 states and 65,000 donuts later and this little donut boy is still doing what he does best...thanking his heroes and best friends for the sacrifices they make daily for total strangers.

Tyler and friends will be serving donuts and thanks to Officers during a Snohomish County event on July 30th, between 2-4pm, at the Snohomish County Sheriff’s South Precinct: 15928 Mill Creek Blvd. in Mill Creek
