Congratulations Chair Wright, I look forward to a sucessfull year with you at the helm.
Angel of the Winds Arena
The Everett Public Facilities District and Angel of the Winds Casino Resort have reached an agreement on a 10-year naming-rights partnership through 2028. The casino paid $3.4 million for the naming rights. Exterior and interior signage will take place over the next couple months.
The arena, which is an $83.3 million multi-purpose complex, opened as Everett Events Center in 2003. Naming rights were sold to Comcast in 2007, renamed the arena to Comcast Arena at Everett, then in 2014 the name was changed to Xfinity Arena.
Angel of the Winds Arena is home to the Everett Silvertips, and has also hosts a variety of events, concerts, and performances.
Keith Wagoner being sworn in by Snohomish County Presiding Judge Linda Krese
Back in November, Sen. Kirk Pearson, R-Monroe, was appointed director of rural development for Washington state, leaving a vacant position in the 39th District. This district encompasses Skagit, Snohomish and King Counties. On January 3rd a joint meeting with King County council members, Skagit County commissioners and Snohomish County Council took place in our council chambers, to vote and appoint a senator to fill this seat. Three worthy candidates were put forward by the Republican Party: Keith Wagoner, Elizabeth Scott and Georgene Faries. With a unanimous 9-0 vote, Keith Wagoner was appointed.
Congratulations, Senator. I am confident you will fight in Olympia for the interests of our constituents and will serve the 39th well.
