Help Shape Our Visitor Economy - Join Us for an Open House on May 13
SEATAC, WA — The City of SeaTac has opened applications for its 2027-2028 tourism funding cycle, providing an opportunity for organizations to develop projects that attract visitors and strengthen the local economy.
Funded through lodging tax revenues, the program supports tourism-related events, marketing initiatives and facility improvements that enhance the visitor experience and increase overnight stays in SeaTac.
Applications will be accepted through noon on Friday, May 29, 2026.
To assist prospective applicants, the city will host a Lodging Tax Funding Application Open House, which will include a question-and-answer session. The event will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at SeaTac City Hall Council Chambers, 4800 S. 188th St., SeaTac.
The open house will provide an overview of the application process, funding requirements and evaluation criteria. City staff will be available to answer questions and help organizations prepare competitive proposals.
Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, government agencies and, in some cases, private operators of publicly owned tourism facilities. Funded projects may include festivals and special events, tourism marketing campaigns, and operations or capital improvements for tourism-related facilities.
All applications are reviewed by the Hotel Motel Tax Advisory Committee, which provides funding recommendations to the City Council for final approval.
"The City of SeaTac is committed to investing in projects that bring visitors to our community and support local businesses," said Maria Langbauer, senior economic development strategist. "We encourage organizations to attend the open house and take advantage of this opportunity to help shape SeaTac's tourism future."
Organizations interested in applying are encouraged to attend the May 13 open house.
Only complete applications submitted by the deadline will be accepted.
