Budgets are coming!
On Monday, the long-awaited operating budgets will be released in both chambers. The Senate Democratic budget will be rolled out at 10am (watch here on TVW) and the House Democrats will announce theirs at 12:30pm (watch here on TVW).
Both the Senate Ways and Means Committee and the House Appropriations Committee will hold public hearings at 4 pm on Tuesday. After that, both are scheduled for an executive session on Thursday, with an expectation that they will be voted off the floor and passed to the opposite chamber by March 31. Next week will be a whirlwind!
We will be busy diving into these budgets next week. So, we’re offering this quick update for now and will follow up with more information soon. In the meantime, here are a few updates on revenue proposals from House and Senate Democrats and a proposed budget from Senate Republicans that recommends no new taxes or fees.
