Rescheduling Oct. 10 review meeting & holding a Statewide Advisory Committee meeting
As pilot VSP counties, Chelan and Thurston are the first to submit 10-year reports. Neither county has previously used the Access reporting template provided by the Washington State Conservation Commission (SCC). Chelan and Thurston submitted their 10-year reports on time (7/20/24). Upon initial review, SCC, working in collaboration with the Technical Panel (TP), determined that more information from each county is needed for the reports to be considered complete.
As a result, SCC is extending the review timeline for both Chelan and Thurston’s 10-year reports to be completed. SCC recognizes the challenges of the current reporting template and is developing an updated 5-year reporting template to be launched in 2025. Join the Task Force to review it and share feedback this fall/winter.
SCC will be working with the TP, Statewide Advisory Committee (SAC), and Chelan and Thurston counties to clarify questions to aid in the review. Chelan and Thurston going through the 10-year reporting process first helps SCC incorporate any lessons learned into the new template and create a good process and guidance for the next 25 counties who begin reporting in Nov. 2025.
Next steps:
-
SCC will first hold a meeting of the SAC to discuss 5-year reporting.
Lacey and online. Date is TBD in Nov. or Dec.
