Sign up to join a VSP task force
One outcome of the VSP stakeholder meeting on Feb. 6 was to form a working group to share feedback and help inform program development and changes. We will refer to this group as a VSP task force (since "workgroup" is already in use for VSP).
Beginning in July, we will assemble a task force to help inform the development of a budget decision package for the 2025-27 biennium. This task force is expected to meet 1-2 times for 2 hours in July and Aug.
There will also be a separate task force group with a focus on monitoring, run in coordination with SCC's Science Hub (details to be determined).

Updated VSP Program Funding Guidelines
At the May SCC Commission meeting, commissioners approved the proposed VSP Program Funding Guidelines. These guidelines are intended to assemble all funding information in one set of guidelines: implementation funding, capital funding (cost-share and DIP), and monitoring expenses. These guidelines now include content of the former VSP Capital Funding Guidelines 2023-25 Biennium, Monitoring Expenses Guidelines July 2023 and Funding FAQ.
Through this review process, we received comments, concerns, and ideas regarding program policies. We appreciate these comments greatly and will further consider in collaboration with our VSP partners and the Statewide Advisory Committee.
Capital cost-share funding update
Thank you to program staff who submitted applications in March for reappropriated capital cost-share funds. We were able to fund 56 of 69 applications with the funding available.
We will be working to make sure capital funds can be fully utilized during this biennium. If you have a currently funded project that you know will not be able to be completed by June 30, 2025, please contact Sarah Wilcox. If there are any returned or additional funds, we will conduct another funding round in the new fiscal year (July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025).
Have questions about cost share? There are resources for billing and cost share on the VSP webpage. If you are new to cost-share projects, check out this webinar about cost-share and District Implemented Projects (DIPs). You may also always send us questions.
Agricultural viability resources
Have you seen this VSP Agricultural Viability Toolkit document?
We've also set up a page on the VSP website to collect and share agricultural viability resources for VSP. Do you have favorite ag viability resources?
