NRCS Updates
A Historic Era for Conservation Funding Through USDA
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) will continue to make historic investments in conservation through programs administered by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). Nearly $1.8B is anticipated to support federal fiscal year 2024 proposals for the Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP). The Notice of Funding Opportunity is expected to be published in January. Folks interested in learning about the funding opportunity may contact Laura Williams, NRCS-WA RCPP State Coordinator, at Laura.Williams@USDA.gov.
An additional allocation of $12M in Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) funding is anticipated to support federal fiscal years 2025 and 2026 applications for the Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP) in Washington State alone. Folks interested in this program may contact Carlee Elliott, NRCS-WA State Easement Program Manager, at Carlee.Elliott@USDA.gov to learn more about upcoming ACEP opportunities.
Similarly, IRA funding will further support increased funding opportunities through the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) and Conservation Steward Program (CSP). Folks interested in learning more about EQIP and CSP opportunities may contact Misty Seaboldt or Joyce Trevithick, respectively, at Misty.Seaboldt@USDA.gov and Joyce.Trevithick@USDA.gov.
