New High Resolution Change Detection (HRCD) data will be available soon for the 12 VSP counties receiving HRCD data. WDFW staff will share additional information in the coming weeks. Until then, here is a summary of the new GIS data:
- 2017-2019 Change Detection Data
- 2017 Tree Canopy Data
- 2017 Visible Surface Water Data
With this update, all 12 counties will have change detection data from 2011-2019. Change detection for 2019-2021 is expected to be available in the spring of 2023. WDFW encourages work groups to review the land cover data at the time it becomes available to proactively monitor change between reporting cycles. WDFW is available to offer support and assistance with reviewing and analyzing the data.
To access HRCD data, as well as learn more about the HRCD data products, check out the HRCD website.

SCC is currently seeking an environmental representative to serve on the SAC. The term is for two years. Meetings are generally held every month or every other month. Members serve as volunteers to help SCC achieve the goals of VSP, which include protecting critical areas while maintaining agricultural viability.
More information on the SAC can be found on SCC’s VSP web page. If interested in serving, please contact Ron Shultz.

Do you have new members? It is important that they take the OPMA training described above. Also, work group members should review the county VSP webpages and SCC’s VSP pages. .
Don't forget that new members should be trained in what their role is and how their county work group operates. You can find the most information related the day-to-day operations on the VSP implementation page.
