These road work projects are scheduled in Sammamish for the week of June 19-26.

SCHEDULES MAY CHANGE DUE TO WEATHER AND/OR EQUIPMENT AVAILABILITY

4th Street: Streetscaping and Paving

On SE 4^th St., the top layer of pavement is scheduled for 6/24 thru 6/26, assuming weather cooperates. This is expected to be a two-day effort. During the paving days, traffic will only be allowed to travel west; eastbound traffic will have to detour around the project. Work is progressing on the 218^th Ave. SE intersection, which had been on hold while a utility conflict was resolved. Other work for the next few weeks include landscaping, street signing, and utility manhole adjustments. Large vehicles should continue to avoid the roadway. Flaggers continue to manage traffic in a shared lane during hours of work. Typical work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. During hours of work for non-paving days, two-way traffic will be sharing a lane controlled by flaggers. During non-work hours, traffic will be travelling in normal lanes.

Arterial Pavement Marking (King County)

King County will be doing pavement marking on main arterials citywide. Work began last week and is expected to last a few weeks, depending on the weather. Working hours are mostly during daytime normal construction hours (7am – 8pm). Work includes pavement striping, thermoplastic marking, and installation of raised pavement markings (RPMs). Pavement striping is a moving operation; please be alert and maintain your distance from striping vehicles.

Curb Ramp Retrofit Project

Our contractor continues to excavate and retrofit ramps on 228th Ave. SE between SE 21st St. and SE 10th St. The contractor will continue working on the east side of 228th Ave. SE and on one ramp per intersection at a time. This project will help update the ADA accessibility on City sidewalks in this area and is expected to take approximately two months to complete.

Issaquah-Fall City Road (IFCR)

Issaquah-Fall City Road remains closed for construction. Local access will be maintained during the closure. The closure between 247th Place SE and Klahanie Dr. SE is expected to last through December 2020. 

• The temporary roundabout at SE Issaquah-Beaver Lake Rd./256th Ave. SE/SE 32nd St/E Beaver Lake Dr. SE is operational. Only final touch-ups are remaining, which are being scheduled once all the parts arrive. The sidewalk around the intersection will be replaced in July. The work will include relocating existing ramps and placement of new concrete and curb in around the Roundabout to better improve access for pedestrians to the crossing locations. 
• Construction of the bridge has begun. So far all of the underground shafts have been completed. The contractor is currently verifying the installation of the drilled shafts and will start constructing upward out of the ground. The area is closed to the public.
• Between 242nd and 247th Ave. SE, traffic ​has been shifted to the south side of the roadway.​ ​Work continues along the north half of the roadway in this area. The contractor and the utility companies will be working on relocations in these limits. Also concrete curb and sidewalk placement is expected to begin.
• The contractor will continue to work in the intersection of 247th Ave. SE near the middle school.

Please note that during peak delays, using the project detour route, Issaquah Beaver Lake Road to Issaquah Pine Lake Road, may result in shorter drive times. For more information and project updates, please visit the project portal on Connect Sammamish.
