UPDATE: Section of East Lake Sammamish Parkway to be Closed through August 21
City of Sammamish Washington sent this bulletin at 08/10/2018 04:15 PM PDT
Sammamish, Wash., (August, 2018) – The City’s construction project on East Lake Sammamish Parkway is nearing the end of the first week of full road closure. The Parkway will reopen the morning of August 22, 2018. This extension from the planned closure will allow new water and sewer mains to be installed while avoiding traffic queuing.
This week, the City’s contractor has been able to safely construct water and sewer bypass systems, install the stream bypass and road dewatering systems, prepare trench boxes for the culvert shoring, and start the deep excavation for the culvert.
Puget Sound Energy (PSE) has scheduled work on Saturday, August 11 to remove overhead power on East Lake Sammamish Parkway that would conflict with the safe crane operation to install the culvert. No power outages or interruption of power are expected with PSE work.
The City’s contractor plans to work on Sunday, August 12 between the hours of 9am and 6pm. They will be removing existing peat material under East Lake Sammamish Parkway that is unsuitable for supporting the culvert. They may also work on Sunday, August 19 to complete required work during the road closure.
