Information for truckers
From the Washington State Department of Transportation:
During night hours this week and next, crews working for Environmental Partners, Inc. will close the Port of Tacoma Road on-ramp to northbound Interstate 5 for clean-up efforts following a spill from a tanker truck that overturned on the ramp on Aug. 18. The ramp closure will occur during the following hours:
- 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, to 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2
- 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, to 5 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7
- 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, to 5 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8
- 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, to 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9
- 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, to 6 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10
No detour will be signed, so motorists are advised to use alternate routes to reach northbound I-5.
The ramp will remain open over the three-day Labor Day holiday weekend.
