Redmond Fire Department Deploys Crew to Support California Wildfires

REDMOND, WA – The Redmond Fire Department is deploying four of its firefighters and one fire engine to assist in battling the ongoing wildfires in California. In response to the call for mutual aid, Redmond's highly trained personnel, equipped with specialized fire suppression equipment, will work alongside other Washington state firefighters to combat the fires that have intensified across Southern California.

“We are proud of our firefighters for their willingness to travel across state lines and assist those in need,” said Redmond Mayor Angela Birney. “Redmond is a community that is ready to support others during times of crisis. Our thoughts are with the families and firefighters affected by the wildfires in California.”

Redmond’s Fire Chief, Adrian Sheppard expressed pride in the team’s readiness to assist. “Our firefighters join Southern California's wildfire response, extending our protection beyond city limits while maintaining robust local coverage. This deployment demonstrates our commitment to safeguarding all communities, near and far.”

The deployment is part of a coordinated response involving over 200 resources from Washington state. Redmond's engine and crew will be part of a team alongside other King and Pierce County resources.
