from the Mayor

In the wake of the recent windstorm and our cleanup efforts, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who has played a part in helping our city work towards recovery. The storm may have left its mark on our streets and neighborhoods, but it has also highlighted the strength, resilience, and sense of community that defines Redmond.

While we know that there are still residents and businesses without power, I am hopeful that, thanks to the hard work of Puget Sound Energy (PSE), most of us will get power back at some point over the weekend. I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our dedicated city staff who have worked tirelessly, day and night, to clear debris, and ensure the safety and well-being of the community.

The recovery process is ongoing, and we will keep you updated as we move forward. Here are some City resources that you may find useful:

WARMING CENTERS
OPEN FRIDAY, NOV. 22, AND SATURDAY, NOV. 23
The following facilities are available for warming and device charging (laptop-size or smaller). Please bring charging cables and limit charging time to two hours so we can accommodate the high demand.

    Open 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

    Open 8 a.m. - 9 p.m.
    8703 160th Ave NE, Redmond, WA 98052
  • Redmond Community Center at Marymoor Village
    Open 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.

STORM DEBRIS COLLECTION EVENT
SUNDAY, NOV. 24, ONLY
9 a.m. - 3 p.m. (or until capacity is reached) on Municipal Campus 8707 160th Ave NE, Redmond, WA 98052

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Redmond residents only (98052 zip code) - bring utility bill, phone bill, photo ID as proof
  • No children allowed to exit vehicles (safety requirement)
  • Bring help to unload - staff cannot assist
  • Enter the site from 90th then turn right onto 160th Ave NE
  • Exit the site by turning right (south) onto 160th Ave NE
  • No commercial vehicles

ACCEPTED:

  • ONLY woody storm debris

NOT ACCEPTED:

  • Leaves/yard waste
  • Food waste
  • Trash
  • Plastic bags of any kind
  • Bagged materials
  • Lumber/fencing/decking
  • Any milled wood

All loads inspected before entry. Additional collection dates will be announced.
