Mayor Birney has proclaimed Nov. 30, 2024, Small Business Saturday in Redmond to celebrate the contributions small businesses make to our economy and community. As the bustle of holiday shopping begins, support local businesses with our Shop Small Passport Program. Now through Dec. 31, shop and dine locally to collect points and be entered to win prizes. Supporting our small businesses is now more important than ever due to power outages that resulted in business closures during last week’s windstorm. From handcrafted gifts to cozy cafés and charming boutiques, shopping small in Redmond means you’re directly contributing to the growth and vibrancy of our local economy. Shop local, support your neighbors, and experience Redmond’s unique charm this holiday season.

Learn About EMS Transport Fees

Learn About EMS Transport Fees

Redmond has implemented Emergency Medical Service (EMS) Transport Fees. This fee will help the department cover a funding shortfall left by the failed 2022 levy by billing insurance companies for basic life support (BLS) calls. The policy does not create any out-of-pocket expenses for residents. These fees are standard at most departments in King County and most patients will never see a bill, though they may be asked to provide insurance information when transported. All patients in Redmond will continue to receive the best possible life-saving care, regardless of insurance status. There is no charge for advanced life support (ALS) services, which includes emergency transport for life-threatening events such as heart attack and stroke. Contact the Redmond Fire Department at 425-556-2200 for questions.
