Redmond Lights Returns to Downtown Park
REDMOND, WA - Redmond Lights, a winter celebration of art and light, will illuminate Downtown Park once again this year. The community can enjoy the free, month-long art installations from Dec. 7, 2024 – Jan. 6, 2025. Additionally, a Kick-Off Event will take place from 4 – 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, at Downtown Park.
“I’m always excited to see Downtown Park transform each December, as Redmond Lights fills the space with vibrancy,” said Mayor Angela Birney. “It’s heartwarming to see our community come together and celebrate the season.”
The Kick-Off Event, which is a free event and open to all, will feature family activities, food vendors, “snowfall” at Buoyant Pavilion, a Luminary Trail, and more! The event stretches from Downtown Park to Redmond Town Center via the Redmond Central Connector with pop-up performances and community booths at both sites. Additionally, Redmond Town Center will host giveaways and photos with Santa.
This year’s light displays and temporary public art that will make Downtown Park glow were created by local artists Anika Goyal, Britta Johnson, Foxlight Labs, Jason Miller, Kari Whiteside, and the Seattle Design Nerds. Three artistic videos were also selected to be projected on Buoyant Pavilion produced by Argot Chen, Claire Scherzinger, and Emily Tanner-McLean.
Redmond Town Center will again present a kids’ coloring activity in connection with the event throughout the month of December.
Redmond Lights is made possible thanks to generous contributions from sponsors Experience Redmond, Amazon, Microsoft, Redmond Town Center, BMW, BECU, Leafguard of Seattle, Nicole Lamphier State Farm Insurance, Knit Studios and 4Culture.
