Learn About Our Redmond Senior & Community Center Passes
In response to community feedback, we introduced new pass options at the Redmond Senior & Community Center this month. Choose between Day Passes (available in packs of 1, 10, or 20), Monthly Passes, and Annual Passes. All passes include access to drop-in activities, the Fitness Zone, and the Walk/Jog Track, and the Family Pass includes the Kids Zone and Indoor Play.
We heard from the community their desires for a more walkable community and more housing options. Implementing a complete neighborhood concept aims to achieve this goal by allowing more businesses – like groceries, restaurants, and coffee shops – to be closer to housing so people can walk or roll there without a car. Additionally, allowing more duplexes, triplexes, and multi-family buildings in more of the city creates diversity in the housing types and could lower housing prices.
Did you know a new team of snowplows is getting ready to hit the streets in Redmond? We'd like your help in naming them! We have five snowplows that need fun, creative names to bring smiles to everyone in our community.
Panhandling isn’t safe, and it won’t solve homelessness or hunger. Please know that not all people who are panhandling are homeless, and not all people experiencing homelessness ask for money. Learn how you can be a part of the solution.
Marymoor Park is King County’s most active park, attracting over three million visitors each year. To keep up with the growing use, King County developed a Draft Marymoor Park Plan that will guide how they update or improve the park. What is most important to you at Marymoor? What should be improved or updated? Share your thoughts by Friday, Sept. 27.
Volunteer with EarthCorps to Restore Bear Creek Park
Join us from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, as the City of Redmond and EarthCorp team up to restore this 4.5-acre park located along Bear Creek, and the trail which was constructed in 2006 along the west side of Bear Creek. This volunteer work includes planting native plants and possibly plant protection. Registration is required. EarthCorps supplies gloves, tools, water, and snack bars. No experience is necessary. Come ready to learn something new.
