Make Back-to-School Safe

Make Back-to-School Safe

The 2024-25 school year starts today. We all play a part in keeping students safe by driving safely in school zones. Follow these simple steps when behind the wheel to keep our streets and students safe:

  • Drive 20 mph or less in school zones.
  • Disconnect from distractions, including your phone and navigation system.
  • Know the laws about when to pass school buses.

Celebrate Art at DRAW

Celebrate Art at DRAW

Join us for the second annual Downtown Redmond Art Walk (DRAW) beginning at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19, in the Downtown corridor. This arts-centric event brings together Redmond’s local artists and businesses for an evening of art and togetherness. It’s a free opportunity, encouraging community members to support local artists, merchants, and vibrant arts organizations alike. Also, stop by Downtown Park to say hello to your City Council during the event.

Discover Salmon SEEson

Discover Salmon SEEson

September, October, and November are Salmon SEEson! Adult salmon are making their yearly trip from saltwater to our local creeks to spawn. With luck, patience, and timing, you can watch this amazing Pacific Northwest ritual.

September is National Preparedness Month, a great time to ensure that you and your household are prepared for any disaster, large or small. Here in the Pacific Northwest, our risks can include power outages, winter storms, and earthquakes. Ready.gov offers free resources to help you make a plan, build a kit, and be ready to take care of everyone in your family.

Give Blood to Save Lives

The City is partnering with Bloodworks Northwest from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 17, to host a blood drive in the Redmond City Hall parking lot (15670 NE 85th Street). September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a time to honor our community’s littlest patients battling cancer. Many of these patients will rely on donated blood throughout the course of their treatment. On donation day, look for the Bloodmobile, and please arrive with your photo ID.
