Commitment to Trees

See Our Commitment to Trees

Our community has a strong connection to trees. Preserving and increasing our tree canopy is a top priority for the City. By 2050, we’d like to add over 200 acres of tree coverage to Redmond, and we are working to accomplish this with policies, programs, and the help of volunteers.

Be Inspired to Volunteer

Ananya Narayanan, a high school freshman in Redmond, is passionate about volunteering and wanted to put her enthusiasm to good use. Having won one of Sodexo Stop Hunger Foundation’s youth grants, she planned, organized, recruited for, and held a two-day food drive at Bella Bottega last month. Along with her good friend and 25 volunteers, they collected more than 1,300 items of food and nearly $2,600 for the Redmond School Break Food Box Program.

“Watching Ananya develop into such a strong leader gives me hope for the future, and the fact that she was able to recruit 25 other youth to volunteer makes me jump for joy,” said Program Coordinator Kristen Muscott.
