Read the Latest Focus Newsletter
The digital version of our spring Focus newsletter is now available online. This edition highlights new beginnings with light rail arriving in Redmond next month, and the Redmond Senior & Community Center opening in May. Plus, find out details about how your neighborhood could be changing, meet our new poet laureate, and learn about free spring sustainable living classes. The digital version of Focus can be translated into more than 100 languages using the website’s Google Translate tool.
The City, in partnership with EMC Research, is conducting its annual survey about local issues and priorities. A randomized subset of residents has received a postcard in the mail to collect statistically valid community feedback about what the City is doing well and what it can improve upon. Thank you to those who have already shared your feedback. If you received a postcard, and haven’t completed the survey yet, please be sure to follow the instructions to participate online or by phone. Your input will be kept strictly confidential.
Safely Dispose of Hazardous Waste
King County’s Wastemobile returns to Redmond from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 5 - 7, in the parking lot of Home Depot (17777 NE 76th Street). Residents and small businesses may bring hazardous waste, such as drain cleaner, antifreeze, batteries, pesticides, and more, for safe, free disposal.
Help Redmond prevent oil, soaps, and other pollutants from reaching our waters and other sensitive environments. Call the City’s Water Pollution Hotline if you see or cause pollutants to spill to the ground, streets, or waters. Working together, we can stop pollutants in their tracks. Report environmental concerns to Redmond’s Spill Reporting Hotline at 425-556-2868.
Attend the Grand Opening of Health Through Housing’s Location in Redmond
Join The Salvation Army, the City of Redmond, and King County’s Health Through Housing (HTH) initiative as we celebrate the grand opening of the HTH Redmond location (2122 152nd Avenue NE) on Tuesday, April 2. HTH Redmond will increase the region’s efforts in supporting people exiting chronic homelessness by providing 100 units of supportive housing. The event will start at 10 a.m. and includes a reception, followed by a guided tour of the facility. Please RSVP by Friday, March 29, to help us plan accordingly as space is limited.
