Community Survey

Participate in Redmond’s Annual Community Survey

The City, in partnership with EMC Research, will conduct its annual survey about local issues and priorities. Please keep an eye out in the near future for a postcard in the mail, sent to a randomized subset of residents to collect statistically valid community feedback about what the City is doing well and what can be improved. The postcard will have instructions on how to participate either online or by phone. Your input will be kept strictly confidential. Next month, an online survey will open to everyone to respond.

Women's History Month

Celebrate Women’s History Month

Redmond celebrates Women's History Month and highlights the contributions women have made to historical events and contemporary society. We honor women the entire month of March, corresponding with International Women's Day on Friday, March 8. Also, stay tuned for our next Here in Redmond! video, when Mayor Angela Birney visits the Redmond Historical Society to recognize influential women who have helped shape our City.

Redmond Senior & Community Center Sustainability Award

Learn About Redmond Senior & Community Center’s Sustainability Award

The new Redmond Senior & Community Center earned the first-ever recognition from the U.S. Green Building Council for sourcing wood from climate-resilient forestry. The Council, which manages the LEED certification process, awarded an innovation point during the process and lauded Opsis Architecture and Sustainable Northwest for verifying that wood came from forests managed sustainably to reduce wildfire risk, increase biodiversity, require less water, and store more carbon – not typical for forest certifications and the transparency adds to the innovative approach.

Daylight Savings Time

Daylight Saving Time Begins

A friendly reminder that Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 10. We'll 'spring forward' and move our clocks ahead by one hour. While we may lose an hour of sleep, we gain an hour of daylight with the change. Among the tips experts suggest when preparing for Daylight Saving Time:

  • Gradually adjust your schedule the week before
  • Consider relaxation techniques
  • Set your clocks the night of Saturday, March 9, so you're ready to go the next day

It’s also a good time to check the batteries in your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors.
