2 Line Opening

Celebrate the 2 Line Opening

Light rail service on the Eastside will start on Saturday, April 27, when Sound Transit’s 2 Line will open from the South Bellevue Station to the Redmond Technology Station. A ribbon cutting at the Bellevue Downtown Station will kick off the celebration, followed by family-fun activities at each of the eight stations, including the Overlake Village and Redmond Technology stations.

Supportive Housing in Redmond

Learn About Redmond’s Newest Supportive Housing Project

Last week, City Council approved the transfer of publicly owned property to Plymouth Housing to develop a 100-unit Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) housing project in Downtown. This is in alignment with Redmond’s Housing Action Plan and the City’s commitment to increasing the overall supply, variety, and affordability of housing to achieve desired livability and equity outcomes in Redmond.

Community Van

Take a Ride in a Community Van

Are you in need of different transit options for rides within two hours of Redmond? Thanks to a partnership with King County Metro and Hopelink, the City of Redmond is helping provide a customized transportation option for community members who aren’t currently served by transit. Community Van is a reservation-based rideshare service, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and driven by trained volunteers.

Mentor a Student

Mentor Redmond Students

Do you have one hour a week you can share with a child? Become a LINKS Lunch Buddy mentor with the Lake Washington School District. Mentors visit during school hours once a week and spend the lunch hour in a preassigned area to eat, play games, make crafts, talk, go to recess, and other activities. Help provide social-emotional support to elementary students who need a little extra one-on-one attention.
