Prevent CO Poisoning

Prevent Carbon Monoxide (CO) Poisoning and Fires

Last week, we were reminded that winter weather increases the risk of power outages, and the importance of having flashlights and extra batteries on hand. Stay safe during power outages by following these tips to prevent fire and CO poisoning.

  • Never use a charcoal or gas grill indoors, including inside garages.
  • Never run a generator indoors, including inside garages.
  • Never leave a car running inside a garage.
  • Be extremely cautious with candles. Candles cause thousands of fires a year.
