Redmond Police Arrest Man Tied to Multiple Residential Burglaries

REDMOND, WA - On Thursday, Jan. 4, Redmond detectives arrested 37-year-old Kent resident Jose Ruis Roja Escalona in connection with home burglaries in Redmond.

Escalona is believed to be part of an organized group responsible for multiple burglaries in Redmond and neighboring communities.

Investigators believe the burglars work in teams to target affluent neighborhoods, not specific people.

“This arrest resulted from a diligent follow-up investigation by Redmond detectives, continuous collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, and, most importantly, community involvement,” said Redmond Police Chief Darrell Lowe. “It sends a clear message to criminals that we will not stop until they are apprehended and brought to justice.”

Escalona was booked into the King County Correctional Facility for Residential Burglary.

Detectives continue to work with other agencies to determine if burglaries in neighboring communities are connected.

Redmond police encourage homeowners to take precautionary measures to deter potential burglars, including installing deadbolt locks and audible alarms.

Other measures include:

  • Installing motion lights around the home.
  • Mounting cameras inside and outside that are high enough to be out of reach.
  • Securing valuables in an offsite safety deposit box or heavy-duty safe that can be bolted down.

Keep an eye out for suspicious activity and call 911 to report any persons or vehicles in the neighborhood that are concerning.

This remains an active investigation. Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to please call Redmond Police at 425-556-2500.
