Redmond Seeks New Planning Commission Members

REDMOND, WA - The City of Redmond is accepting applications to fill two openings on the Planning Commission, and the positions are open to anyone who lives within Redmond city limits. The commission makes recommendations to the City Council on proposed amendments to Redmond’s Comprehensive Plan and Zoning Code.

The City is committed to having a commission that reflects the diversity of the community and encourages applications from all residents who are interested in the future of Redmond, including those who may have applied for past vacancies. Desirable qualities of a commissioner include a strong interest in the diversity of community issues, an ability to review the meeting materials in advance, and skills in communicating with others.

The commission meets at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at City Hall. There are occasional special meetings. All board and commission members are volunteers.

Learn more about the commission or apply by visiting redmond.gov/Commissions. There is no deadline to apply, however, applications are encouraged to be submitted by 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 17. The positions will remain open until filled.

For questions regarding the Planning Commission position, contact the Planning Commission liaison at planningcommission@redmond.gov or call 425-556-2481.
