Domestic Violence Suspects Arrested in Redmond During Annual Sweep
REDMOND, WA - The Redmond Police Department (RPD) participated in an annual nationwide family violence warrant sweep on Oct. 25 in an effort to locate and arrest people with outstanding warrants.
Multiple agencies joined forces during October for Domestic Violence Awareness and Prevention Month to serve active warrants related to domestic violence cases. This October marks the 20th year of this effort.
During the sweep, RPD officers and detectives made 25 warrant service attempts and apprehended five suspects in October.
“This collaborative effort shows domestic violence survivors that we are committed to protecting them and reminds offenders we will work to hold them accountable for their crimes,” said Redmond Police Chief Darrell Lowe. “Redmond police will continue to search for these offenders until they are arrested.”
According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, family and domestic violence affects an estimated 10 million people every year. In 2022, Redmond Police dispatch received 711 domestic violence-related calls. So far, in 2023, dispatch has received 578 domestic violence-related reports.
