November Redmond Connections

Enjoy Winter in Redmond

As the days become shorter and daylight becomes more elusive, there are still plenty of activities to do here in Redmond. Also, there’s genuine value in staying active, connected with friends, and finding fun things to do in the throes of winter. In this month’s Our Stories Redmond Connections video, Mayor Birney and a member of the City’s Parks and Recreation Department explore fun winter activities in Redmond. If you want to learn more about something we do here at the City, email communications@redmond.gov.

Sound Transit

Learn More About the Plan for Light Rail’s Arrival to Redmond

Last week, the Sound Transit Board approved the Sound Transit 2024 Service Plan, which is the final step confirming the arrival of the initial segment of the 2 Line to Redmond and Bellevue in spring 2024. This 2024 service will begin operating as a portion of the larger East Link Extension project. When complete, the East Link Extension will add 14 miles of light rail from Seattle’s International District to the Redmond Technology Station. An additional 3.4 miles will be connected when the Downtown Redmond Link Extension opens, with stations in Marymoor Village and Downtown Redmond. Mayor Birney, along with many stakeholders in the region, sent a joint letter of support to the board.
