Redmond Police Recognizes Domestic Violence Awareness Month
REDMOND, WA - October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Redmond Police Department (RPD) encourages everyone to start a conversation about this important issue and show those impacted by domestic violence that they are not alone.
According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, family and domestic violence affects an estimated 10 million people every year. In 2022, Redmond Police dispatch received 711 domestic violence-related calls. So far, in 2023, dispatch has received 578 domestic violence-related reports.
In our commitment to addressing domestic violence prevention, treatment, and recovery for survivors, RPD employs a legal advocate who helps facilitate the court process for victims and provides any needed resources and referrals.
