Get Ready to Shakeout

Earthquakes aren’t predictable, but at 10:19 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19, people across the country will join in the Great Shakeout annual earthquake drill. Whether you are at work, at home, or anywhere else, it is a great opportunity to practice earthquake preparedness by dropping, taking cover, and holding on.

Health Through Housing

Learn About King County’s Health Through Housing Location in Redmond

Join King County, The Salvation Army, and City of Redmond staff from 7 – 8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 23, at the Health Through Housing Redmond location (2122 152nd Avenue NE) for a Meet & Greet event. This will be an opportunity for community members to learn about the recently named operator The Salvation Army, the County’s approach to this work, and the City’s commitment to creating a safe and stable place for community members to call home. For accommodation requests, including an interpreter, as well as questions or concerns, please email health.through.housing@kingcounty.gov.

Health Through Housing and other supportive housing models are designed to address chronic homelessness by partnering with local communities to provide safe and dignified housing options and stabilizing services for people with disabilities, including behavioral health conditions who experience ongoing housing instability.

Help Make Redmond Inclusive

Help Make Redmond More Welcome and Inclusive

Join the City and numerous community partners from 5 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Together Center (16305 NE 87th Street, Suite 110) for a community dinner, conversation, art, and other activities. Together, we will work to help identify ways we can change our spaces and places to create a city that is inclusive and welcoming for all. This event is part of Redmond 2050’s focus on equity and inclusion. For event planning purposes, registration is required by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24.

Green Redmond Day

Take Part in Green Redmond Day

Join us from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, at Downtown Redmond's Heron Rookery Park for our annual Green Redmond Day planting event. We are working on reforesting this site that is infected with root rot disease and we need your help. Instruction, tools, gloves, and refreshments will be provided. All ages are welcome. Meet at the plaza just south of the intersection of Bear Creek Parkway and 161st Avenue NE. Parking is available along Bear Creek Parkway or in the Redmond Central Connector parking lot on Bear Creek Parkway between 161st Avenue NE
and Leary Way.

Small Business Grant Program

Apply for a Small Business Resiliency Grant Today

The City and OneRedmond are partnering on a small business grant fund and applications opened today. The program’s focus is to offer relief in the form of one-time $5,000 grants to small, for-profit businesses that have experienced financial hardship due to COVID-19 and related public health measures. Eligible businesses must be located within the City of Redmond zip code of 98052 and have 10 or fewer employees. Register for an Oct. 17 webinar to learn more.

Verde Tour


Enjoy an Overlake Green Building Tour

Join the City of Redmond's Environmental Sustainability Advisory Committee (ESAC) and city staff from 4 - 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18, for a tour of Verde at Esterra Park. Verde is a new all-electric multifamily building in the Overlake neighborhood that’s targeting LEED Zero Carbon certification. We'll learn about the sustainable practices used to build and operate the building, while connecting with other members of the community and ESAC. Space is limited, so please register.
